This bike was stolen 9/28/95 and recovered on 10/16/95 Looks like some one took it for a joy ride, they put about 120 miles on it and dropped it a time or two. It was found parked down in Morgan Hills (about 30 miles south of me). From the look of it, it was sitting somewhere for awhile. No prints and no clue on who took it. Insurance should cover all the damage. It was only 1.5 months old when it was taken. Insurance took 4 months to finally get around to writing the check. There was a slight problem with the VIN number on the paper work. The one on the bike didn't match the one on the insurance papers. They finally figured out that since I only purchased one bike, and the VIN on the bike matched the one I reported stolen, that it must be the one that I was insuring. But they never did bother to ask.

I finally got it back on Jan 10th. Had a great time with it for 2 days. Friday Jan 12th, as I was getting on the on ramp to Hwy. 17 I hit the breaks and a oil slick at the same time. Shortly there after I hit the pavement. Broke the turn signals (the nice new ones) scratched the front fender and the gas tank pretty bad and twisted the shift lever into a very nice art deco design. I came away with a couple of new scars but nothing really serious. Bike went back to the shop, and after haggeling about what was and wasn't actually in need of repair or replacement (they managed to find things that *needed* to be fixed that hadn't been touched in the crash. I had a few words to say about that and they did a second estiamte which was much more accurate. Ordered the parts and waited another month for them to arrive from Japan. And as of May 30th, I am back on the road again. Well at least the weather is nice now :) so keep your fingers crossed.
